Toongabbie Christian College is a Kindergarten to Year 12 school in Western Sydney, established in 1981 and now educating more than 900 students from across the region. With a proud history and strong sense of community, the school recognised the need for a refreshed identity that better reflected its growth, aspirations, and positioning as a college.
Handle Branding was engaged to lead a full rebrand, encompassing everything from naming and positioning through to colours, signage, collateral, and digital applications. Our initial brand assessment revealed that students, staff, and families felt the existing identity no longer conveyed the strength, confidence, and future direction of the College. This insight informed a comprehensive strategy to reposition the school as a modern, unified institution while preserving its heritage.
A key focus of the project was re-imagining the College crest. Drawing inspiration from the school’s history and visual symbolism, we crafted a new emblem that honours tradition while delivering a contemporary, scalable design. The crest was carefully developed for versatility—ensuring it remains strong and legible across uniforms, signage, publications, and digital platforms.
Beyond the crest, we introduced a refreshed colour palette, type system, and visual style that brought consistency across all touchpoints. The rebrand extended to wayfinding and environmental graphics, marketing collateral, and digital templates, creating a cohesive brand experience that resonates with students, families, and the wider community.
The result is a revitalised identity that instils pride, enhances recognition, and positions Toongabbie Christian College as a forward-looking centre of learning built on enduring values.
To complement the crest and reference the history we repurposed the iconic triangle from the previous logo to create a link between old and new marketing. Our creative team developed a new look in regards to the typography, graphics and photography with new visual systems that reference the school’s community and culture whilst updated their rich history for a modern era.
Toongabbie Christian College now has a brand that is consistent and strengthened through its communication. Encouraging the community, students and potential students to learn more about the college.
